Hello my sweet friends, I hope you had a wonderful week.  I'm so glad the weekend is here…aren't you?  Before anything else, I want to take a moment to say thank you for your many responses.  I realize you are likely to have/subscribe to many other E-Newsletters, blogs, and even follow many social networks; but you taking the time to send us your wonderful comments mean a great deal to us.  And please know that it absolutely does not go unappreciated.

Hum, this week has been quite busy for me; so much so that my thought process is imprecise.  Remarkably the motivation is here, but my schedule…hum…that is another story!  ??? You know how it is…right?…you know how it is when one tries to keep that perfect balance between the “daily grind,” and the business one loves deeply…right?  LOL, a lot of you may be unable to answer me judiciously; and that is absolutely fine…LOL!

However, as I sit in front of this computer with 100 different things flowing around my mind; it is clear that some important characteristics of my astrological sign have taken over (commitment, persistence, and determination/perseverance towards achieving).  Yup, I must respect the fact that I have a commitment to connecting and sharing with you; and a determination to achieve all our goals for AEG.  [Particularly continuing with our consistency of staying connected and in touch at all times with our friends and family here on-line.]

Although I am compelled to talking; sharing; and even collaborating, this week I will do less talking and more sharing of some important events that will be taking place in the upcoming weeks.

Before I “trot on” there is one important thing I must say:

OBAMA 2012!

Sorry everyone...who sent e-mails, and even "chewed" me out in person; I simply tuned out of politics for a bit.  However, THE FIGHT IS ON; now that Newt Gingrich has finally given indication about suspending his campaign [as he fought to obtain the Republican Nominee for President.]  He lost in many, many states during the Republican Primary, and he intends to fully endorse Mitt Romney in the next few days.

Gingrish with a straight face, and a determined tone stated recently:

“After a hard fought primary season, Governor Romney has emerged as our nominee for president. We enthusiastically commit our support for Governor Romney. America cannot afford four more years of President Obama’s divisive and failed leadership that continues to punish entrepreneurship, pick winners and losers in our economy, and ignore our fiscal Crisis”

And without further ado, I present to you...some great events.

April 28, 2012 - IN A FEW HOURS FROM NOW

Woohoo, I am super excited to attend a concert of one of our Junior High School Class Mates.  In fact my husband Todd and this lovely lady continued on with their education in the same High School.

So many years ago during Jr. High School days, lovely Wendy Hicks has been singing; and have been doing an awesome job at it.  She has always exhibited her talent, and tremendous love for music/singing.  After connecting with her via “Facebook” it is clear that she never gave up on her passion, and is determined to be all she can be with her singing career…[the very best.]   Wendy is all grown up now with a family of her own, and she continues striving to obtain her singing dreams and goals.  Wendy will be sharing the stage with other artists tonight, Saturday, April 28th, and I am so happy to share with you details about her concert: "Three Dudes and A Lovely Lady".  The location: Burke Theatre, 701 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington DC.  Doors open at 6:00pm; Showtime: 7:00 pm. I have added the flyer below with additional details.

May 5, 2012 - 10 am - 4 pm

For some time now, we have been receiving E-mails from our Trinidad and Tobago Ambassador to the United States of America and Mexico - His Excellence Dr. Neil Parsan; who has been kind enough to share with us some of the important things he has been doing since he has been appointed; [and gee has he been busy!]

My plan is to add a section to our E-Newsletter (not yet named) to basically bookmark and share information about the Trinidad and Tobago Embassy, and events.  Also, to showcase the works of our T & T Ambassador.  Most importantly, this would allow you to keep up with our Embassy’s goings on.  My intention and goal is to expand this to all Caribbean Embassies depending on the information being provided to us; [on a consistent basis...of course.I indicated above “not yet named;” so if you have any suggestions. please...kindly share it with us.

The upcoming event the Embassy has shared with us takes place next Saturday, May 5th, and it is an annual event called: Passport DC.

Passport DC is a an annual celebration of international culture presented by Cultural Tourism DC.  This event showcases Washington DC’s Embassies and Cultural organizations with a wide range of performances, talks, and exhibits.  In addition to Embassy open houses and events, several Washington, DC museums participate with special programs.  For this 5th year (anniversary)  the event will celebrate with a new Global Marketplace and an expanded and free International Children's Festival.  Please note this event takes place during the entire month of May.  However, this Saturday it kicks off with the Around the World Embassy Tour, which affords Embassies to showcase artists and artisans, performers, lecturers, teachers, and others.  Plus it provides a wide range of educational and cultural programming designed for people of all ages.

The Embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is taking part, along with 41 other Embassies, and it's a day to sample extraordinary delights inside stately mansions and exclusive compounds.  Experience food, art, dance, and music.

Our Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Embassy will specifically feature at their compound/location in DC the following listed below:

·        Steelpan performances

·        A Tassa Band

·        Moko Jumbies

·        Carnival costume display

·        Limbo Dancers

·        Indian Dancers

·        Delectable cuisine

Try to attend this interesting event.  The Embassy is located at: : 1708 Massachusetts Avenue Northwest  Washington, DC 20036 - (202) 467-6490 and http://www.ttembassy.org.  For more on Cultural Tourism Passport DC May 5th Around the World Embassy Tour, and the other Passport DC Events taking place throughout the month  CLICK HERE! or visit: www.CulturalTourismDC.org
