My dear…dear friends and family; how are all of you?  And how are you doing?  I do hope you are well, and are doing fantastic.

Quite a few weeks have passed in my favorite month [February-Black History Month;] and I got caught up with the many intriguing changes and transitions taking place in my “circle.”  Needless to say, I was not afforded the unique opportunity to chat with you throughout this entire month [disappointed and sighing with my head hanging down].  And wouldn’t you know it…I sincerely missed that special time…that simply wonderful time [“vibing” with you.]  Many of you inquired about me…my well being; and may I say I am absolutely wonderful, and coming along quite nicely as my husband “Todd” and I walk along the NEW Road that has been laid out before us.  Please know that I sincerely and deeply appreciate the concerns express via your e-mails.

Gosh, it has been a pretty exciting month overall, mainly because we celebrated and commemorated the great achievements of Black Americans who played a significant part in shaping and changing this great nation’s history…The United States of America History.  With their magnificent works, amazing discoveries, steadfast determination, and profound leadership!

Yup, BLACK HISTORY MONTH…indeed the shortest month of the year, but by far the most educational and momentous.  I must share with you that this years’ theme was: “At The Crossroads of Freedom and Equality: The Emancipation Proclamation And The March In Washington.” Hum, I recall sharing with you the special significance, and the inspiring aspect of this past January’s Presidential Inauguration in my last e-Newsletter; which were: (1) the 50th Anniversary of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech [the historical and important March on Washington].  As well as (2): the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.  However, when I shared it with you I had no clue that these two important historical...monumental events would be featured/used as the theme of Black History Month.  To learn more about the importance of this theme, PLEASE CLICK HERE! Intriguingly every day this month was one to marvel at, and it ended with a “BANG”; as well as with the unveiling of Civil Rights Leader Rosa Parks Statue in the U.S. Capital, which took place this past Wednesday, February 27th.  Ms. Parks is the first African-American woman to be honored with a statue in the U.S. Capital.  It is 9 feet tall bronze statue, and is located in Statuary Hall (where the House of Representatives met in the 1800’s).  Wow, The thought of a woman ½ a century ago fighting for her Civil Rights by refusing to give up her seat on a bus in Alabama; and look what she has accomplished throughout her years: (1) Awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1996; (2) Awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 1999; and (3) a few days ago she was honored with a statue in the U.S. Capital.  How Wonderful!  As a matter of fact, it is a wonderful way to launch “Woman’s History Month” [MARCH].  President Barack Obama spoke at this historical event, and below I have added the video, courtesy of www.politico.comCLICK ON THE PICTURE BELOW TO WATCH THIS VIDEO, and you can also read the transcript of President Obama's Speech/dedication at this historical event.

Some other interesting events took place this month, which I would be remiss if I didn't mention them.  LOL, I’m backing up in my memory a bit here...LOL!!!

I am sorry though that Mas Man (Maker)...Designer Mr. Brian McFarlane’s announcement of his final year of designing and creating Mas; as well as contributing his talents, and craftsmanship to Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival Arts and Culture. Congratulations to him on his winning of 2013 Band of the Year with his presentation “Joy The Finale’”  CLICK HERE TO LOG IN AND READ MORE ABOUT MAS DESIGNER BRIAN McFARLANE (Courtesy of Mas Republic.  This website gives great insight in Mr. McFarlane's work throughout the years.)

Overall though, the entire month was awesome, either due to the special weekend get-a-ways, and/or the days/weekends just spent at home, creating, managing and doing enjoyable stuff for the business.  Plus during the chill times just getting everything in perfect order at our home, catching up on movies with drinks and good home cooked food.

As the month of March begins, this 1st day is extremely significant because [a drum roll…please] HOORAY IT’S TODD’s BIRTHDAY.  Therefore the celebrations will continue as it did last month!  I thought nothing could top our recently passed 28th Wedding Anniversary Celebration; but so far this birthday has already surpassed that.  In fact I know it will be Epic, with the plans set forth for his special day/night.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODD, I have said the below on many occasions, and I say it to Mr. Mangatal once again.

It's the special day of a gentleman who is unique, intellectual, and very genuine with a heart that is absolutely golden, and a soul that is so very pure.  It is your big day, the day many years ago you were brought into this world by your proud parents Jan and Mano.  It is always wonderful experiencing, celebrating, and sharing this special day with you every year.  You absolutely mean the world to me, and I wish you the happiest birthday.  May this birthday be super special, and the one that allows you to fully achieve all you have dreamed and wished for from the day you were able to speak to share them all with everyone around you.  Happy Birthday to my dear, sweet husband Todd Mangatal...my true friend, life long partner, and hero!

Oh…Oh…Oh Cheryl M. if you are reading: just this week we finally got around to using the gift card you gave Todd last year for his birthday.  We actually put it to good use by purchasing a major office equipment. Thank you Girl!

WELL, I WILL BID YOU ADIEU FOR NOW!

But as I do I must say that I am very disappointed with the U.S. Congress regarding the so-called “Budget Armageddon” (deep automatic spending cuts across the board WILL take effect if it is not halted by Republican Lawmakers and the White House by midnight tonight.)  You…know…what…I wonder why is it that the people we elect to represent us are adamant about NOT fighting for us, for our needs; and constantly failing us with their petty, personal fights.  Total blatant disregard for the people of America who elected these Congress Men and Women to office.  So now…at this late hour we are looking at this important issue NOT being solved (especially since The House of Representatives is NOT in session today, apparently some sort of a holiday for them).  Hum, 85 Billion in cuts will be in effect if both sides don’t agree: (1) 750,000 jobs are in jeopardy, (2) unemployment wages will go down 9.4%, (3) Disability payments will be delayed; (4) the Pentagon will have to cut 13% of its budget, (5) layoffs of Airport Security Workers and Air Traffic Controllers, (6) small business loans will be effected, (7) even Federal agencies will likely have to issue notices to folks who will be laid off.

And the madness and BLAME GAME goes on and on; simply because of some huge egos.  These men and women in Congress refuse to stop fighting their stupid fights, refuse to stop with playing their stupid games, and refuse to work with the White House to make things better in America and in our lives as well.  The important question in many of our minds today is: why are they trying to hinder the Nation’s Economic Recovery?

Anyway, enough said!

As I close my e-Newsletter, DO KNOW THAT I LOOK FORWARD TO “VIBING” WITH YOU REAL SOON.  In fact, we are preparing to travel out of the country in the very near future; mainly on a fact-finding mission, but we intend to squeeze in a well deserved vacation.  I’m certain with the rest and relaxation, I will be able to spend some time writing and touching bases with you via our AEG  e-Newsletter.

Enjoy your weekend, and the have a wonderful week ahead…until we chat again real soon.  I honestly didn't have a free moment to go through our e-mails so I could add any upcoming important events.  However, once I do I will make sure they are added to our "Events" page!
