Hello On-line friends and family!  How are you?  I hope all is well with you, and everything in your life and world is awesome!

This past week was filled with long busy days, and nights that were crisp and cozy.  But most of all, unfailingly it was a week of anticipating and counting-down the days before we began our vacation.  And the day we flew out of Maryland most of it was spent meticulously getting things in order regarding the Pet (who is vacationing too at our local Pet Hotel), our home, our business, and our baggage/gear; needless to say it was such a pleasure to finally be able to sit down with a tall salted glass filled with Margarita.  Ahhhh, that was refreshing and relaxing; but most importantly, it was the start of what I believe would be one of the principles of this vacation…LOL!

Wow, and here we are; completed the first (1st) leg of our trip in warm, trendy Miami!  Oh dear, loveliness is not the only word to describe this place; it is absolutely splendid!  The ocean view resort hotel we stayed at was something out of this world, and our quiet walks on the private beach were inspirational.  The green water splashing against my feet as we walked approx. a mile on the water’s edge soothe me completely, and opened up my thoughts.  And oh, the property (Marriott Harbor Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale) was truly beautiful…it was well worth the time exploring all of it, and the cost.  When it was time to leave; I wished I had arranged things so that we could have spent more time relaxing at this spectacular resort.  WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT WHEN VISITING SOUTH FLORIDA!

The beginning of the second (2nd) leg of our trip couldn’t have started any better…completely stress free.  And the smile on my face, as well as my husband Todd’s WOULD NOT GO AWAY no matter how hard we tried!  We checked in, and got settled in our lovely room on the cruise ship we choose to sail on this year; and began enjoying the start of our quiet and relaxing vacation.  The first thing Todd did was headed straight to our room balcony; and the funny thing was: he couldn’t seem to tear himself away!  Dinner was fine, and the after dinner drinks in one of the nightclubs were very nice.

Unfortunately though, a little after midnight after getting back to our room; an announcement was made over the ship’s intercom…in fact a code was announced “Bravo…Bravo Starboard Side.”  We figured something unpleasant was taking place, or had happened on the “Starboard” side of the ship; [which coincidentally our room is located on the “Starboard” side;] but we didn’t know what “Bravo…Bravo” meant.  A little later the captain announced that someone had fallen overboard [we were off the coast of Cuba (1/2 way to Jamaica,) and the water’s depth was 1850 feet.)  Of course we were instantly overcome with worry, and planted ourselves on our balcony.  At that point the search began for the person who either jumped or fell overboard.

The captain shared his plans regarding turning the ship around and heading back to where he believed the person fell overboard.  And needless-to-say; the ship was immediately turned around, and proceeded right back to the area where the person many believed went overboard; (with spotlights on as they searched the water!)  It was on our side of the ship, so we had a good vantage point to see the rescue as it was taking place.  The brightly lit rescue boats were lowered into the water; and off they went only a few feet away from the boat looking and looking and looking, with the help of the spotlights.  Meanwhile, we were anxiously awaiting the coast guards, and even helicopters to arrive to join in with the search; but to our surprise they never came.

Anyway, after about 1 hour and 15 minutes in the search; we along with many others who were hanging over the balcony with our eyes pealed to the dark water, and darkness that was all around us from the black night sky heard a voice screaming “help…help…help;” which astonishingly was coming from the water.  As I stated before, we really couldn’t see due to the darkness, but it was enough for us and many of the passengers to erupt in screams saying we hear someone saying help; and it is “over there.”  OMG, you know what…AMAZINGLY the person was found, and was alive!  Something none of us expected since the water was so deep; and knowing there must have been some dangerous sea creatures lurking in the deep waters.   Oh…dear; obviously it was not this person’s time to move on!  Clearly, this woman was saved by a higher power…truly a higher power!

Well, this woman was rescued…taken out of the water and rushed back on board.  The medical crew began treating her immediately; and then the announcement from the captain came across the intercom system, which informed us officially that the rescue was indeed successful…the person was alive…and was currently being treated.  A MIRACLE AT SEA…THANK THE LORD!!!!

Apparently, the captain decided to continue on with our trip; but by daylight he felt he needed to get this woman back to the states for treatment, and therefore he decided to turn around and head to Key West, Florida (which was not one of the stops on our voyage.)

Hum, what a first night on board this ship was for us!  Wow…LOL, as much I was looking forward to resting; I was too stressed with this situation to sleep.  So the night this madness took place was a restless one for us, and sleeping was difficult.  Personally though, Todd and I both are very happy that this woman was found, and most importantly she IS ALIVE!  BY THE WAY THIS INCIDENT WAS NO ACCIDENT…THE WOMEN JUMPED OFF THE SHIP [apparently, distraught over some craziness her partner/boyfriend was doing, and rumor has it that she was under the influence of alcohol!]

Regrettably, our time in Ocho Rios Jamaica was canceled; but it doesn’t really matter to us because this woman’s health, and keeping her alive is more important.  As for the other passengers, they were extremely unhappy and showed it once she was taken off the ship in Key West; WOW they “boo’d” her as the Key West EMS workers took her off the ship!  Mind you, many stated they “boo’d” her because she tried to commit suicide (from all reports); and she screwed up their trip.

Since we were heading back to the states, all we could do was try to start this thing all over again.  Yup…try to get the rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation for the remainder of our days on the ocean; which I am hopeful we will accomplish.  And LOL, after this ordeal; I am certain we will definitely be consuming many different cocktails; as we proceed with getting away from all our day-to-day craziness of life, business and everything else.

Aha, Key West!  We have been to Key West on many occasions; so we didn’t rush right off the ship once it was docked, but once we got off we only had [approximately] 2 hours at shore to enjoy the shopping, sight seeing, and drinks.  And needless-to-say it was a fun filled and interesting 2 hours of walking the exciting streets of Key West.  Along the way though, we discovered a clothing optional bar where we spent the rest of the time having 2 for 1 Margaritas, and observing the unclothe people around us.  Luckily we only had 2 hours; because with those 2 for 1 Margaritas we might have been unclothe too…LOL!  Woohoo…FUN BEGUN…wouldn’t you say???

Oh, we found out from our newly found hanging buddies at the interesting bar that this upcoming weekend is the “Fantasy Festival and Parade,” that is held annually during Halloween weekend in Key West.  This is exactly like a “Mardi Gras” filled with all kinds of weirdness and freakiness.  Hum, maybe we’ll plan a trip for next year to experience this…Hehehehe!

As the adventure continues, we have already heard numerous reports that a Hurricane has developed in the Caribbean around Jamaica and Haiti, and other islands; so who knows what’s next regarding our trip!

Well, I am not going to keep you reading all of what has been transpiring on this vacation; so I am going to cut this short and just share with you a few important things/events that will be taking place in the upcoming weeks (locally.)   Before I do though, let me just say the 3rd and last Presidential Debate is only a few short hours away; and I’m sure it will be more fascinating than the last two.

Incidentally, the 2nd Presidential debate that took place last Tuesday, October 16, 2012, in Hempstead, New York; was just as I imagined---interesting, entertaining and informative!  Of course, the candidates (President Obama and Gov. Romney) were still going over, and stressing their “talking points;” but I must admit each time I have learn more, and even something new!  Todd said the right thing to me after the debate “all this fussing and arguing about who will be better at running this country … and who has told untruths … and who has not succeeded with delivering what they promised; do you realize nothing either of them do will change the world…it’s just going to be the same old mess.   And he’s certainly correct!!!!

And how about our President huh?  Not too aggressive, precise, factual, respective, compassionate, and did a “hell of a job" at giving us a clear vision of where he wants to take the country during his 2nd team (depending on if he wins the election.)  Thankfully, during this 2nd debate he defended all the negatives Gov. Romney stated about his policies, plans, non-accomplishments, etc…etc…etc ~~~ don’t you think?  Governor Romney’s aggression was not bad either.  As I stated above, I thought (along with all of America) this 2nd debate was very interesting!

By the way, thank you for your comments regarding my thoughts on the 1st Debate (that I shared with you last week…CLICK HERE TO READ my last e-Newsletter.)  One member of our on-line family had me laughing so hard [in stitches] due to their out of the ordinary comment.  The comment is as follows:  I couldn’t figure out why so many people wanted President Obama to act as a NWA...HE SIMPLY CANNOT!”  Hahaha…honestly, I was thinking the same thing!  As I stated clearly in my last e-Newsletter, President Obama CANNOT...in no way be EXCESSIVELY argumentative, confrontational, aggressive or defensive.  Most importantly, he must represent us in the most positive way, as he heads the highest office in the land!

Have a wonderful week; and we will chat once Todd and I get back home.  Go ahead and scroll down to our "Featured Events" section to see some of the important upcoming events I mentioned above; and/or check out our "Events" page!!
