Hello my dearest On-line friends and family!  Hope all is well with you, and everything in your life and world is super!  I have missed a week of "vibing" with you; but it was far beyond my control.  I am however, very glad to be able to share my thoughts with you this week; as I am every week I get a chance to do so!

We are well into Fall, and the weather is kinda nice.  It's a bit cold too, but not unbearable yet...thankfully!

You know...lately my husband "Todd" and I have been chuckling, and have just been awfully silly; because soon we will be "dropping everything" in an effort to take some days off...so that we can benefit substantially from the big 3 R's: REST, RELAXATION; and most importantly REJUVENATION!  Lately, I've been so extremely busy and somewhat "burnt out," that I know these days away (far...far away from everything and everyone) will help me to begin fresh and new again on working hard towards accomplishing our goals.  Oh dear, I'm so looking forward to putting down on paper all these thoughts and plans that are constantly "running" around my head, and monopolizing my mind and entire being.  As they say...one must always write down their goals and plans...because indeed a written goal represents a real commitment.  In my case I am totally committed, and extremely determined; but simply don't have enough time during my day to day operations/functions to really focus on all I must do to implement the steps to reaching and accomplishing all my personal dreams.  Surly, this time away will allow me/us to reorganize; and help us with getting things in order so that we can proceed successfully and undoubtedly obtain all we are seeking.  [Hehehe, if I don't get carried away with having fun...right?]

Well, I hope these past two weeks were productive, informative and enlightening.  The highpoint of last week was the Presidential Debate [don’t you agree?]  Which to me was very interesting, and clearly to many of you as well; per the report released a week ago by the Nielsen ratings (67.2 million tuned into the debate.)  Hum, I’ve been hearing so much talk about Governor Mitt Romney winning the debate; and if that is the case CONGRATULATIONS to him and his team.  But to me he seemed to be extremely aggressive, overly excited, shifty, and was talking “a mile a minute” about issues (to my surprise) that was the total opposite from what he has been saying along the campaign trail.  You know as I think about it, and pardon me for saying…but I find his eyes, as well as his movements were a bit “coke-headish”.  [I witnessed that same type of movements and actions from a relative in the 80s, who was always “coked” up.]”  Weird huh?  Anyway, please know that I am not being malicious, I am just pointing out what I observed about our Extremely Wealthy, Mormon, Republican, Presidential Candidate; and I ask all of my Republican and Independent friends to forgive me if you find my statement to be offensive.

Now, what I found surprising among my colleagues regarding the first debate is how quickly they were to criticize the way President Barack Obama handled the debate.  I personally found him to be himself…cool, calm and collected at all times throughout the debate.  And he performed as a PRESIDENT should “Composed;” “Classy,” and “Confident.”  THE WAY HE SHOULD!  In no way should he have been argumentative, confrontational, overly aggressive or defensive.  Honestly, I personally had no patience with the Moderator Jim Lehrer (Executive Editor of PBS’s “News Hour,”) who in my opinion did not handling his assignment efficiently, and allowed things to get out of control.  However, I admired greatly how respectful President Obama was to him, and how he completely allowed Mr. Lehrer to do his job.  The respect he exhibited to Mitt Romney was admirable as well, and truly professional.

As for President Obama, he calmly explained the state in which America was in when he took office 3 and ˝ years ago (a trillion dollar deficit and a Great Recession/Depression, etc..)  He briefly mentioned how complex the mission has been; but with determination and resilience he and his team pressed on.  In the little time given to speak on the issues, he stressed on (explained) many of his policies; and effectively informed America about the many things he was able to SUCCESSFULLY accomplish, and how!  (Even with the difficult fights he has had with Republicans in Congress).  He talked about moving ahead with the massive job of bringing America completely back on its feet [certainly 3 and ˝ years could not be enough time to bring complete change, or for a complete fix of everything that has been so badly broken in America.]  He simply asked America to vote for him so that he can proceed with, and complete the job he has started.  Never once did he veer off from what he has been saying for these past 3 and ˝ years; nor what he has been doing…[NO “bate-and-switch," or saying things simply to score political points.”]  He just spoke the plain truth; with facts that were laid out so that all could understand.   Which I appreciated greatly!

The statement that stood out to me the most, and kept me enthralled was when he calmly stated the following: “If you believe that we can cut taxes by $5 trillion and add $2 trillion in additional spending that the military is not asking for - $7 trillion, just to give a sense, over 10 years that’s more than our entire defense budget - - -and you think that by closing loopholes and deductions for the well-to-do, somehow you will not end up picking up the tab - - - then Governor Romney’s plan may work for you.” “…Governor Romney is your candidate…” In other words, go ahead and elect Governor Romney if you feel his plans will work for you!  I would have said the same thing (if I was in his position) without a fight or an argument!

As for the many comments and talks I have heard about President Obama not performing the way many think he should have (many felt he should have been argumentative and verbally fought Gov. Romney;) I feel a statement Todd made recently about this stupid issue is a good one, and is one that I totally agree with.  Todd stated: “We all must keep in mind that this is about the election of the leader of the United States of America, which is a very serious issue!  And if you want to see a cat fight watch “Love And Hip Hop” or Divas “Nicki Minaj” and “Mariah Carey” with their vicious exchange on their American Idol show; or even any of the other reality garbage that is on TV currently.  There is no place for that sort of behavior in the future of America; and most importantly the sitting President must be careful about how he appears.  He must be PRESIDENTIAL at all times.  Besides this President has made history, and he must leave a positive mark in our minds and in this world."

When you have a chance, please go ahead and read the transcript of this first debate! CLICK HERE TO READ!  Personally, for me reading it; as opposed to what I viewed was rather enlightening!

As I bring my thoughts on the debate to a close I must state adamantly; that although I have some serious issues with the Health care plan, and some other minor stuff; I feel the President has done a very good job.

Oh, by the way...WOW isn't  it wonderful that the unemployment rate has gone done from its 8.1%.? The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ reported late last week that unemployment DROPPED to 7.8 percent – 114,000 jobs were added to the economy in September 2012.  This has been the lowest rate in nearly 4 years, in fact since President Obama took on his job as President of the United States...Woohoo!

Even though I put quite a few things aside to get this e-mail out in a timely manner; I imagine you may not get this before the Vice Presidential debate (October 11, 2012.)  If you don't, I hope you made it a point to tune in, and to listen attentively to the answers of the topics that were being debated.  Most importantly, I am hopeful you learned more about how Vice President Joe Biden and Wisconsin Governor Paul Ryan feel, and dispute specifically on Foreign and Domestics policies.  I'm sure it will be extremely interesting!

I hope you are looking forward to the next Presidential debate as I am.  It will be held on October 16, 2012, in Hempstead, New York (Town Hall Meeting style); and I'm sure this 2nd one will be tremendously fascinating.  I won't be surprised if our President chooses to be a tiny bit aggressive.  And if he does, I just hope it will be done in a diplomatic and professional manner.   Please note the final Presidential debate will take place on October 22nd, 2012 in Boca Raton, Florida.

Wow, this important month October is ˝ way gone; and I have noticed so many of you are conscious of, and have been doing everything in your power to share the importance of this very significant and special month Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”  As we all know Breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer death in women, second only to lung cancer (in fact, over any other type of cancer.)  Many of you over 40 (LOL, like myself) must undergo a mammogram and clinical breast exam yearly to make sure we DO NOT have the disease, (early detection is the primary method of survival.)  And if by chance we do (unfortunately,) the exam affords us the opportunity to catch this awful disease in its early stages; so that we can take the proper steps regarding treatment…[early treatment affords a much greater chance of survival.]  On a side note:  I am pleased to see there are so much HOPE now ~~~ as opposed to a few short years ago, especially since the medicine is so very advanced; which results in higher survival rates.  Moreover, there are better techniques for diagnosing the disease specifically since everything’s digital…images are much better!

Even though over the years [really in more than a decade] Breast Cancer deaths in America have been declining.  Much of that success is due to early detection and better treatments.  Therefore, you must schedule your mammogram screening along with a clinical breast exam, as well as perform your self-exams on a monthly basis.  (Women from the age of 20 and older.)

Go ahead and support in every which way you can; with helping to fight the difficult war against beast cancer by: (1) donating to charities that directly fund cancer treatment and/or pressure government to take real action; (2) participating in the cancer awareness walks or runs (which helps to raise funds for (i) research, (ii) mammograms for those who cannot afford the cost, (iii) improved patient care, as well as (iv) services;) (3) hosting events; (4) encouraging your friends and family members to schedule a mammogram screening, and (5) simply by wearing your PINK to show your support.

Next Sunday, October 21st, the annual local Susan G. Koman race for the cure takes place in Hunt Valley Maryland - it's 20th Anniversary; so I urge you to take part in this special 5k Run/Walk or 1 mile Family Fun Walk.  Even though Todd and I will be out of town and will not be able to attend; we will do our little part with supporting this special cause, and with the fight against Breast Cancer.   CLICK HERE TO LEARN ALL THE DETAILS ABOUT THIS SPECIAL EVENT (WALK/RUN), AND HOW TO PARTICIPATE!

Again, let's all remember this special month, by joining the runs taking place across the nation, as well as purchasing a pink bracelet or even a pink ribbon; and do as much as we can to truly support the fight of breast cancer.  Remember National Breast Cancer Awareness Month celebrates 28 years of awareness, education and empowerment!!!  Log on to: http://www.nbcam.org/; there you will find lots of information on this dreadful disease, and you will also find other resources to learn about the disease; as well as obtain answers to all the questions you may have.

As I close for this week, I want to say that this month too is National Anti-Bullying Awareness Month;” and as you know bullying lately has been a serious cause for teenagers to take their own life.  With the growth of digital technology, it has been reported that the internet cyber bullying has grown tremendously – via social networking and even texting.  Therefore, bullying has been seriously on the rise, and has truly reached epidemic proportions.  We all must make sure our teens and even adults become empowered to handle any kind of bullying behavior…precautions must be taken against this madness so that it does not become detrimental to the development of our Children

First and foremost...we must be kind, respectful and loving to each other!  However, learning the current trends of bullying and cyber-bullying WILL be very important in preventing any harm to our children…we must get familiar with cyber bullying tactics, victimization dynamics and potential risk factors.  Therefore, I feel it is important to share with you a great article I read that is written by Meryl Ain, Ed.D entitled: “How Adults Can Stem The Tide of Bullying;” (Courtesy of The Huffington Post).  Dr. Meryl Ain shares with us some important steps Parents can take regarding the positive behaviors they should engage in combating bullying.  CLICK HERE TO READ THE ARTICLE.

I do want to thank so many of you for reaching out to me and sending your thoughts and comments about my experiences and feelings I shared with you regarding via our last published weekly e-Newsletter  Difficult having a decent Conversation with people…one that is productive, interesting and not “one sided.  CLICK HERE TO READ, if you missed that e-Newsletter.

It is so nice to know that it’s not just me that has been experiencing this problem!  LOL, I laugh as I share with you what Todd stated to me as we were discussing the topic, and after he read exactly what I wrote.  He stated:  You always say you have no friends, well…we both say we have no friends.  Now after folks read what you wrote; they will NOT want to have a conversation with you anymore; and just walk away when they see you coming.  We will have less friends, and our associates will dwindle.”  I told him, that’s OK!  I would rather have folks in my life who want to listen attentively to what I have to say, and would want to hear how I feel about certain issues.  And besides, if writing about it helps 1, 2 or 3 people have better conversations; then I have done a good job!

By the way, the 17th Anniversary of the historic Million Man March will be taking place on October 16, 2012.  I was informed that The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan will be commemorating this special day with “A Holy Day of Atonement” [Mohammad’s Economic Blueprint: Ending Poverty and Want”. ] This is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 14, 2012, in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Bojangles Coliseum.  There are events planned for the entire weekend beginning this Friday October 12 – Sunday October 14th in Charlotte NC; so CHECK THE FOLLOWING SITE FOR TICKET INFORMATION http://www.noi.org; AS WELL AS VENDING INFORMATION; plus all the EVENTS, including the highly anticipated keynote address by The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan scheduled to be delivered at 2:00pm on Sunday October 14th.  I understand this keynote address will be broadcast via a live stream per the following link:  http://www.noi.org/webcast/.  Again, CLICK ON THE FOLLOWING LINK for all the details: http://www.noi.org; and/or Click the following link to learn how you can attend: http://www.noi.org/hdoa2012.  Further you can read exclusive news report via http://www.finalcall.com
